On the common side of the coin – a geographical depiction of Europe.
On the national side of the coin – a profile of Erasmus of Rotterdam, the name of the program in Lithuanian, ERASMUS PROGRAMA, as well as the inscription LIETUVA, and at the bottom right, the years 1987–2022. The logo of the manufacturer, UAB Lietuvos monetų kalykla, the initials of the designer, and twelve EU stars arranged in a circle are also incorporated. The edge of the coin bears the inscription – LAISVĖ VIENYBĖ GEROVĖ (Freedom * Unity * Prosperity). The common side of the coin is the same as that of the circulating 2 euro coins.
