George Michael (born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou; 25 June 1963 – 25 December 2016) was an English singer, songwriter, record producer and philanthropist. Considered a pop culture icon, he is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with record sales ranging from 100 million to 125 million. all over the world. Michael was known as a creative force in songwriting, vocal performance and visual presentation. It charted at number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. Michael has won numerous music awards, including two Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards. He was listed in Billboard's "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" and Rolling Stone's "200 Greatest Singers of All Time". The Radio Academy named him the most played British radio artist between 1984 and 2004. in 2023 Michael was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
