The Bank of Latvia has put into circulation a 5 euro silver collector's coin "Janis Rozentals", which depicts a reproduction of the artist's painting "Princess with a Monkey".
The maximum circulation of the coin will be 7000.
The author of the graphic design of the coin dedicated to Rosenthals is Sandra Krastiņa. The obverse of the coin depicts the back of the painting with a facsimile of Rosenthals and the seal of the LNMA, and the reverse shows a reproduction of the painting "Princess with a Monkey" (1913).
In 2016, the 150th anniversary of Janis Rozentals, one of the founders of Latvian painting, was celebrated.
