The Royal Mint of Great Britain has introduced a silver coin from the Shēngxiào Collection series dedicated to the Chinese lunar calendar.
The reverse of the coin depicts a tiger as if walking towards the viewer. This image was created by artist David Lawrence combining elements of British and Asian cultures. You can see the Chinese character of the word "king" on the tiger's forehead. At the top of the border is the inscription: "Year of the Tiger 2022" (Year of the Tiger 2022).
The obverse depicts the fifth portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Along the rim are inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II REG F D 2 PUNDS" (Elizabeth II, queen, defender of the faith, by the grace of God, number of pounds).
