This gorgeous proof is struck from 5 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver measuring 65 mm in diameter. Each coin of the extremely low mintage of 500 is inscribed with a unique serial number on its edge, matching its Certificate of Authenticity.

A beautifully detailed gilded male German Shepard dominates the reverse design, as he patrols a rocky landscape with his mate and young nearby. The design includes the gilded Chinese character for dog above, along with "YEAR OF THE DOG."

The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II crowned with an elegant tiara, as sculpted by Raphael Maklouf, with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "NIUE 2018," "8 DOLLARS" and "5 OZ 999 SILVER".
