The reverse of each Australian legal tender coin depicts an adult koala sitting in the fork of a eucalyptus tree, amid a rural landscape. The design includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA, The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark, and the 2015 year-date. 

The obverse shows the profile of Queen Elizabeth II. Indicates the release of the country (Australia) and the nominal value of the coins.

The 2oz and 1oz coins are available in spectacular high relief. Each coin's high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 50 2oz high relief coins and 350 1oz high relief coins, in this style of individual packaging.
